newly engaged, and so happy!

A pair of our best friends just got engaged today, and Matt and I got to tag along. In order to keep everything a surprise for sweet Kim, Matt and I put it together in Malibu. After our wonderful picnic on the beach, we came back to our place and they got their special 'engagement cake.' The cake was vanilla with fresh raspberry filling and a buttercream frosting. Even though it was so small, the top layer was horrible to decorate...wouldn't stay in one spot. I'm including pics of the beach setup, proposal, and of course the cake. And she did say YES!! Congrats Brandon and Kim, we love you both so much!

Chinese Checkers

Matt and I made a groom's cake for my sister, Juli's wedding on August 1st. We had alot of fun, and it was the first time we used fondant. It was interesting to use, but I know we could do it again. Everyone loved it (especially the kids), and John was really surprised, he knew that Matt and I were making a groom's cake for him, but not what it was going to be. We used gum balls for the marbles, and could hardly keep my older brothers off of them. Altogether we had a fun time, and John and Juli's wedding was gorgeous!

Jon and Monique's Cake

I've known Monique since she was in preschool, and I was honored when she asked me to decorate her wedding cake. We used modeling chocolate to do the branches and the flowers, and it was lot of fun.

Mike and Lindsay's Cake

On May 26th, Memorial Day, we got to decorate our friend Mike and Lindsay's wedding cake up at Lake Arrowhead. It was a cold day, but a lot of fun, and they loved the cake!

What we do!

Hey everyone. This being my first post, I thought I would tell you all what we do. My husband and I decorate wedding cakes. After 2 years of culinary school, I worked for Starbucks, and then for Washington Mutual, and then one of our friends was getting married and asked me to decorate her wedding cake. Matt and I had a great time, and I decided that this was something I wanted to pursue. We've done 2 weddings so far (I know, it's not much), but we've loved it. We don't charge much, and we love working with your budget. We're also happy to do party cakes for anyone. If you need any baked goods I make terrific brownies, cookies, muffins, cheesecakes, or whatever you might need. Thanks for dropping by!
