Pool Table Cake

So, I didn't make this cake by myself. My sister was asked to make a groom's cake for her friends wedding, and asked me to help her make it since she's never worked with fondant before. Krista baked the cake, and I taught her how to make the fondant, and helped her with bits and pieces of it. She did a lot of the work, and we're both very proud of it. The cake is chocolate with Bavarian cream and sliced strawberries, along with vanilla buttercream and marshmallow fondant.

I made cookies to celebrate my sister and brother in law's first wedding anniversary. They're wedding cake was covered in chocolate ganache, so I colored the icing to match the original.

A Family Reunion

We did a cake for an Italian family reunion this past weekend. It was a pound cake with almond simple syrup, raspberry filling and buttercream frosting. The grapes are made of royal icing, and the flag is made from fondant. They were very pleased with the cake, and so was I!

Cupcakes for Grandma's Birthday

I made these cupcakes for Grandma's birthday. They're yellow cake with vanilla buttercream, and I tired covering some of them with fondant for the first time . I was only kind of happy with the fondant covered ones, but I'll put more frosting on them next time so that they're mounded better.
